Signia: Natural Sound, Including Your Own Voice

Signia is part of WS Audiology, one of the world’s largest hearing aid companies, and carries on more than a century of hearing technology that began with Siemens. It is known for solving one of the most common complaints of new hearing aid wearers: their own voice sounding loud or boomy.

Signia also makes some of the most distinctive-looking hearing aids available, from the slim Styletto to the earbud-style Active. Its newest platform, Signia MaX, launched in September 2026.

Signia hearing aids are designed to help you:

  • Hear your own voice naturally, not boomy or echoey
  • Follow group conversations in noisy places
  • Choose a style that suits how you want to look
  • Get help any time from an AI assistant in the app

The Latest: Signia MaX

Signia MaX (short for Multi-adaptive Xperience) is Signia’s newest platform, available from September 2026. The first model is Pure Charge&Go MaX, a rechargeable receiver-in-canal hearing aid.

What’s new

Signia says MaX is the first hearing aid with four deep neural networks working together:

  1. RealTime Conversation Enhancement AI focuses on the people you’re talking to, even as they move around you.
  2. Own Voice Processing AI keeps your own voice sounding natural. Signia says it was trained on 1.5 million voice samples and needs no extra setup in the clinic.
  3. Ambient Scene Adaptation AI adjusts to where you are, from a quiet room to a busy street.
  4. Dynamic Noise Control AI reduces background noise as it changes.

Signia reports that 97% of wearers in its study did better in noisy group conversations. Battery life is up to 28 hours, a 30-minute charge gives around 6 hours, and the portable charger holds extra charges for travel. MaX supports Bluetooth, LE Audio and telecoil, and Signia plans to switch on Auracast through a software update.

The Signia Range

  1. Pure Charge&Go MaX: the 2026 flagship receiver-in-canal.
  2. Pure IX: rechargeable receiver-in-canal on the IX platform, with RealTime Conversation Enhancement.
  3. Styletto IX: a slim, modern design that looks more like a designer accessory than a hearing aid.
  4. Active Mini IX: an earbud-style hearing aid.
  5. Silk IX: a tiny instant-fit hearing aid that sits in the ear canal, no ear impression needed.
  6. Insio IX: custom in-the-ear and invisible-in-canal models.
  7. Motion Charge&Go IX: rechargeable behind-the-ear for more significant hearing loss.
  8. CROS: for people with no usable hearing in one ear.

What Signia Does Best

  1. Own voice. Signia has led the way on making the wearer’s own voice sound natural, one of the biggest reasons new users give up on hearing aids.
  2. Design choice. Styletto, Active and Silk give options for people who don’t want a traditional-looking hearing aid.
  3. Tinnitus. Signia’s Notch Therapy is a unique approach to tinnitus that works without adding masking noise.

Who Signia Suits

  1. First-time wearers who find their own voice distracting.
  2. People who care about how their hearing aids look.
  3. People with tinnitus who don’t want a masking sound.
  4. People who like the idea of an AI assistant they can ask for help at any time.

Apps, Remote Care and Tinnitus Support

  1. Signia app: control volume and programs, use the Signia Assistant, and contact your audiologist through TeleCare.
  2. Signia One app (MaX): remote fine-tuning, CareChat by text, voice or video with your audiologist, a 24/7 AI assistant and Apple Watch support.
  3. Signia Assistant: describe what you’re struggling with and it adjusts your hearing aids on the spot.
  4. Tinnitus: Notch Therapy, plus static noise and ocean wave sounds, set up by your audiologist.

Why Get Your Signia Hearing Aids Fitted at NeuroAudiology

A hearing aid is only as good as the person fitting it. The same device can sound completely different depending on how it’s programmed, so the fitting matters as much as the brand.

  1. We test first. A full diagnostic hearing assessment by an audiologist comes before any recommendation. Medicare rebates may apply.
  2. We fit several leading brands. That means we recommend what suits your hearing, lifestyle and budget, not one manufacturer’s catalogue.
  3. Programmed to your results. Your hearing aids are set up from your own hearing test, then fine-tuned at follow-up visits as your brain adjusts.
  4. Government subsidised options. Eligible pensioners and DVA card holders can access subsidised hearing aids through the Hearing Services Program. We check your eligibility and handle the paperwork.
  5. Ongoing care. Follow-up appointments, fine-tuning, cleaning and remote adjustments are part of the service, at five clinics across Sydney.

Signia Hearing Aids: Frequently Asked Questions

What is the newest Signia hearing aid?

Signia MaX, launched in September 2026. The first model is Pure Charge&Go MaX. Ask us which models we can fit now.

Why does my own voice sound strange with hearing aids?

Your own voice reaches the hearing aid microphones very loudly and close up, so it can sound boomy. Signia’s own voice processing is designed specifically to fix this.

What is Signia Notch Therapy?

Notch Therapy is a tinnitus approach that removes a narrow band of sound at your tinnitus pitch, rather than adding masking noise. Your audiologist sets it up after assessing your tinnitus.

Can I get a hearing aid that doesn't look like a hearing aid?

Yes. Signia Styletto and Active Mini are designed to look modern and discreet, and Silk sits inside the ear canal.

Can I get Signia hearing aids through the Hearing Services Program?

If you’re an eligible pensioner or DVA card holder, you may be able to get fully subsidised hearing aids, or top up to a higher technology level. Availability of specific Signia models under the program varies, so we’ll show you exactly what’s covered after your hearing test.

How long do Signia hearing aids last?

Most modern hearing aids last around five years with good care. Regular cleaning, wax guard changes and check-ups at the clinic help them last longer and keep working properly.

Do I need a hearing test before buying hearing aids?

Yes. A full hearing assessment tells us the type and degree of your hearing loss and whether anything else is going on, such as wax or a middle ear problem. It is the only way to choose and program a hearing aid properly.

Can I try hearing aids before committing?

Ask us about a trial. Wearing a hearing aid in your own daily life is the best way to know if it is right for you.
