Why an Implant Can Cost You Less Than Hearing Aids
Premium hearing aids: around $10,000 a pair, mostly self-funded, replaced every 4 to 6 years. Medicare doesn’t cover them, and extras cover pays only a small part.
Cochlear implant: Medicare plus Silver or Gold hospital cover typically covers the device and the surgery, and many funds also cover future processor upgrades.
