Beltone: Trusted Hearing Care Since 1940

Beltone began in Chicago in 1940, when Sam and Faye Posen opened a hearing aid business. Today it is part of GN Hearing, the Danish group that also makes ReSound, so Beltone hearing aids share some of the most advanced wireless and AI technology in the industry.

Beltone puts that technology into a wide range of price points, and its apps are built to be simple to use. Its newest range, Beltone Illuminate, launched in August 2026.

Beltone hearing aids are designed to help you:

  • Understand speech clearly in noisy places
  • Stream calls, music and TV without fuss
  • Join Auracast audio in public venues with one tap
  • Find the right technology for your budget

The Latest: Beltone Illuminate

Beltone announced Illuminate in August 2026, replacing Beltone Envision as its flagship. It is listed in Beltone’s Australian range.

What’s new

  1. AcoustIQ: recognises your sound environment in real time. Beltone says it is 91% precise and 88% more accurate than its closest competitor.
  2. Four-microphone beamforming: both hearing aids work together to focus on speech.
  3. AI noise reduction: a deep neural network switches on automatically when needed. Beltone says it does this without reducing battery life.
  4. True Directionality: in the top technology level, designed to keep sound natural and help you tell where it’s coming from.
  5. Clearer speech in noise. On its Australian site, Beltone says 83% of users rated speech clarity in noise better than with the closest competitor.
  6. All-day battery and tough design. Up to 24 hours, even with streaming, with an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. Supports LE Audio and Auracast.

The Beltone Range

  1. Beltone Illuminate: the 2026 flagship, in rechargeable microRIE, battery RIE, rechargeable ITC and ITE, wireless ITC, CIC and CROS styles.
  2. Beltone Envision: the previous AI flagship, still a strong option.
  3. Beltone Serene, Achieve and Amaze: earlier ranges that can offer good value.
  4. Beltone Commence: an essential-level range, including custom CIC and ITC.
  5. Beltone Boost Max S and Boost Ultra: power hearing aids for severe to profound hearing loss.

What Beltone Does Best

  1. Advanced technology at different prices. GN’s AI, LE Audio and Auracast features across several technology levels.
  2. Ease of use. Beltone’s HearMax app includes an Auracast Assistant that makes joining public audio streams simple.
  3. Durability. IP68-rated designs built for everyday life.

Who Beltone Suits

  1. People who want proven technology without paying for features they won’t use.
  2. People who want a simple app.
  3. People with severe to profound hearing loss (Boost range).
  4. Active people who need a tough, water-resistant hearing aid.

Apps, Remote Care and Tinnitus Support

  1. Beltone HearMax app: control volume and programs, check battery, boost speech in noise and join Auracast streams with the Auracast Assistant.
  2. Remote care: your audiologist can adjust supported models remotely.
  3. Tinnitus: Tinnitus Breaker Pro sound therapy on supported models, set up by your audiologist, plus the Beltone Tinnitus Calmer app.

Why Get Your Beltone Hearing Aids Fitted at NeuroAudiology

A hearing aid is only as good as the person fitting it. The same device can sound completely different depending on how it’s programmed, so the fitting matters as much as the brand.

  1. We test first. A full diagnostic hearing assessment by an audiologist comes before any recommendation. Medicare rebates may apply.
  2. We fit several leading brands. That means we recommend what suits your hearing, lifestyle and budget, not one manufacturer’s catalogue.
  3. Programmed to your results. Your hearing aids are set up from your own hearing test, then fine-tuned at follow-up visits as your brain adjusts.
  4. Government subsidised options. Eligible pensioners and DVA card holders can access subsidised hearing aids through the Hearing Services Program. We check your eligibility and handle the paperwork.
  5. Ongoing care. Follow-up appointments, fine-tuning, cleaning and remote adjustments are part of the service, at five clinics across Sydney.

Beltone Hearing Aids: Frequently Asked Questions

What is the newest Beltone hearing aid?

Beltone Illuminate, announced in August 2026, replacing Beltone Envision as the flagship. Ask us which models we can fit now.

Are Beltone and ReSound the same?

Both are made by GN Hearing and share much of the same core technology. They have different designs, apps and model names.

Are Beltone hearing aids waterproof?

Beltone Illuminate has an IP68 rating, which means strong protection against dust, sweat and water. Hearing aids still shouldn’t be worn swimming or in the shower.

What is Auracast?

Auracast is a new Bluetooth technology that lets you tune into audio broadcast in public places, like airports, gyms, TVs in waiting rooms and venues, straight through your hearing aids.

Can I get Beltone hearing aids through the Hearing Services Program?

If you’re an eligible pensioner or DVA card holder, you may be able to get fully subsidised hearing aids, or top up to a higher technology level. Availability of specific Beltone models under the program varies, so we’ll show you exactly what’s covered after your hearing test.

How long do Beltone hearing aids last?

Most modern hearing aids last around five years with good care. Regular cleaning, wax guard changes and check-ups at the clinic help them last longer and keep working properly.

Do I need a hearing test before buying hearing aids?

Yes. A full hearing assessment tells us the type and degree of your hearing loss and whether anything else is going on, such as wax or a middle ear problem. It is the only way to choose and program a hearing aid properly.

Can I try hearing aids before committing?

Ask us about a trial. Wearing a hearing aid in your own daily life is the best way to know if it is right for you.
